ODDience2030 project meeting

A group of students from Albufeira (AEA) travelled to Catalonia to attend the ODDience2030 Erasmus+ project, focused on Sustainable Development (SDGs) and resilience.
Between May 6 and 8, the city of Barcelona hosted the international ODDience2030 project meeting.

The Algarve delegation, made up of students from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Albufeira, participated in an intense intercultural experience focused on improving knowledge in partnership with the environmental association Bora Ambiente and the Catalan school FEDAC Sant Andreu.

A network of cooperation aimed at overcoming environmental and social challenges by 2030

The first day of the visit was dedicated to getting to know the local reality of Sant Andreu. The students attended talks and activities led by international partners during the presentations and discussions on how the school integrates the SDGs into its daily curriculum.

In this meeting, partners from Portugal, France and India presented the work developed throughout the project, consolidating a network of cooperation aimed at overcoming environmental and social challenges by 2030.

Sustainability model of the metropolitan city

For beyond-the-classroom learning, the programme included a strong practical component. After an immersion in theory and fieldwork in Barcelona, participants were challenged to analyse, on site, the sustainability model of the metropolitan city.
Accompanied by the FEDAC Sant Andreu team, the group visited an urban park of reference. Special attention was given to innovative strategies for transforming public space, such as :

  • The creation of green corridors to combat heat islands and increase climatic resilience
  • The commitment to sustainable electric mobility as a guarantee of quality urban life

Direct contact with biodiversity

To conclude the mobility with a key learning experience, the group explored the Montseny Natural Park. This moment allowed direct contact with the local flora and fauna.
With their return to Albufeira, the students bring back not only memories of an enriching intercultural experience, but also solutions and ideas that can inspire the transformation of their own community towards a greener future.

The gathering around the dinner table at the end of such productive days could not be missed.
